Payment information: Doghouse only accepts United States based/ issued: cashiers checks, personal checks*, business checks*, money orders* or cash.
* we will wait for the check to clear our account before we take any action to fill your order. E-mail us if you want to use a credit card, and I'll tell you how to do it.
We do not take phone orders for the products on this site. We will happily converse with you to answer all your questions, but you must put in an e-mail specifically what you decide to buy so we have a record of it.
(1) Short blocks & some long blocks can be sent by UPS. Turnkey engines will be sent by truck freight only. Turnkey engines will be on a pallet and will require a forklift or 6 WWF wrestlers to unload, or you can pay extra for lift gate service. Truck shipments may go to a business address or may be picked up by you at a local dock, to be determined by the trucking company used. Residential deliveries by truck will cost you more.
When we ship UPS, we will believe your package was delivered to the address we were given, even under circumstances which includes any specific instructions you give us, such as "leave by the garage door" or "leave on the porch" or "leave with my neighbor Bob" and so on. It's your responsibility to receive the package. Therefore, there will be no refunds or credits issued if you say you did not actually get your package.
We insure all orders through the shipper. Omitting insurance is not an option.
The following applies to all methods of shipping: Shipping by "Rush" or "I need it NOW" requests will cost more.
Any freight truck orders must be confirmed before it is shipped. What this means: We will try to locate the business name you give us on the internet. If we can't find it to confirm the truck shipping information, we will treat the shipping as residential.
There is no way to know who really signs for your order, since ID verification is not required on these types of delivery. Therefore the responsibility of who signs for it, is yours.
(2) We prefer truck shipments go to a business address, to save you from paying a residential delivery fee. However, if no business address is available to you, a residential delivery fee will be added. Non freight UPS shipments will ship at residential rate. Be certain of the ship to address you give us. If UPS corrects the ship to address to facilitate the delivery, it will cost us an additional fee. Doghouse reserves the right to charge you & you hereby agree to pay us for the additional fees incurred by the correction.
If the trucking firm charges us for delivering to a non business address, Doghouse reserves the right to charge you & you hereby agree to pay us for the additional fees incurred by the correction.
(3) Due to rising costs of freight, labor, production and our suppliers price structures, Doghouse reserves the right to change product prices without notice.
(4) The product you want may not be in stock & immediately shippable. Call for availability.
(5) Doghouse reserves the right to substitute items of equal or better value and quality on all orders. We also reserve the right to remove small, easily re-installed items from your short block, long block or turnkey engine, so that we may pack your order to fit more comfortably in the shipping box.
(6) The short blocks, long blocks & turnkey engines on this site are sold without any express or implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or time.
This policy is due to:
(a)The nature of high performance applications & intentions.
(b)The customer's participation in properly finishing the build of our short blocks & long blocks.
(c)The customer's participation in properly finishing the install & break-in of our short blocks & long blocks.
(d)The customer that means well, but still hooks up the oil lines backwards & seizes the engine.
(e)The customer that needs to get a new engine due to some negligence on his part, so he resorts to sabotage to get it.
(7) The engines on this site may NOT PASS emissions tests due to the camshafts and carburetors used on them. You accept that responsibility.
(8) Every effort is taken to ensure that reconditioned parts we may have used in building a short block, long block or turnkey engine is as good as money will allow them to be, however, ultimately, they are used, and as such will have no warranty.
Additionally, any carburetor, is sold without warranty.
Parts described as new on our site indicates that they are new parts, not parts that have been re-manufactured to like new or cleaned & painted to look like new.
(9) Regarding International shipping; We don't do it. We ship inside the United States only. If you need it outside the U.S. you'll need to find a broker to buy it for you.
(10) Despite our suppliers best efforts, sheet metal parts may suffer minor surface flaws, scratches or dings during production & shipping.
Scratches and minor dings are not unusual and cannot be prevented.
These flaws are not considered to be damaged product.
(11) Claims:
All shipments should be immediately inspected for packaging damage prior to the signing (where applicable) of your acceptance. If there is package damage, there may be product damage. Immediately open & inspect the contents. If damages are found, notify the shipper/carrier immediately to file a claim. The shipper/ carrier will contact Doghouse regarding your claim. If you also want to contact Doghouse, please do so by e-mail.
Doghouse will not assume any responsibility for shipper damage.
In the unlikely event there is no packaging damage, but your product is damaged, you must notify Doghouse by e-mail within 24 hours of package acceptance, to file a claim. We will require pictures of the reported damage to accompany the claim. E-mailed claims filed with Doghouse after 24 hours from the time of acceptance will not be processed or acknowledged. Phoned in reports of a claim will not be accepted. E-mail is required for a record of date, time & content.
(12) Cancellations:
If you've made a purchase and then choose to cancel, we will gladly issue a refund, less 4% for processing your canceled order, provided we have not begun the building process of your order. If the building process has already begun on your order when you cancel, the costs incurred for the parts & labor involved in that process will be deducted, along with the above mentioned 4%, from your refund. Your refund will come in check form from Doghouse.
(13) Returns:
Product returns are not advised.
Since we sell only short blocks, long blocks & turnkey engines, your returned item would need to be torn down, inspected & rebuilt in order to verify it's condition. My labor to do that will be debited from any possible return you may have. You hereby authorize us to debit your refund for the tear down, inspection & rebuild & all the parts & supplies that might be involved, should you decide to return a short block, long block or turnkey engine.
(14) To ship or mail to us by UPS, UPS Freight, FedEx, US Mail, or the like,

COD or Freight Collect shipments are not accepted. We recommend you insure the package for its full value in case of damage or loss.
The use of recognized manufacturers and their respective model names/numbers by Doghouse is for the sole purpose of application and description and in no way denotes their use to infer a direct connection between Doghouse or its products and those automobiles manufacturers or factories.
Caution: The products on this website which alter your engine or vehicle performance may only be legal for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway and may not comply with the requirements of your state/local laws regarding noise or emission levels. It is your responsibility to research that legality.
