| Description: | This ALL NEW short block started with a new Empi aluminum standard roof block. Would now be built with a pentroof style aluminum block. The block is full flow ready. Single thrust cam bearings hold an Engle 130 cam with an Empi set of Billet steel straight cut cam gears on @ 4 degree advance. Retard washers included for straight up timing and 2 degree advance. The cam pushed 31mm head Empi lifters (would now use 28mm drilled lobe lifters) and an Empi HD cast iron bodied oil pump. An Empi windage tray is inside to keep frothing down. A chrome oil drain plate with a magnetic drain plug and new oil screen, seals the bottom up. A new Empi 76 stroke counterweighted forged crank spins Rimco re-sized, re-bushed, end to end balanced and mate balanced stroker clearanced (for lighter weight in this application) rods. Would now use new Empi connecting rods instead. A CB Performance chromoly gland nut & washer held on a new stock weight flywheel for torque. Would now use a Scat chromoly gland nut. New gears & keys are on the crank. New distributor drive pinion gear* & thrust washers. Nylock nuts hold the block together. New German oil pressure springs & plunger at flywheel. Empi grooved plunger at pulley end. *gear set in place 180 degrees off, in preparation for a Compu-Fire DIS-IX distributor cap. The long block starts off with a set of 92mm stroker pistons (ringed with Grant & Total Seal gapless 2nd rings) held in place by teflon buttons. Stock cylinder cool tins hug the cylinders above the clear coat painted stock pushrod tubes. Performance Products 3/8" cut to fit chromoly pushrods. Autolinea heads supplied by Performance Products have 40 x 35.5 swirl polished valves, dual springs, chromoly retainers, 3/4" reach spark 14mm plug bores and 50cc combustion chamber. 7.87:1 compression ratio. Scat 145,000 psi chromoly head studs. Empi solid bolt together rocker shafts hold new rockers with 9mm valve adjust screws and 15mm wrench size adjust nuts. Would now use standard rockers with swivel feet. Lash caps sit on the valve stems. Would not be used with the swivel feet. Chrome valve covers & bales close it up. Allow 1-2 weeks to build |
