Description:
Went turnkey.
This is based on our all new 2052 short block. Short block starts with a Scat prepared oem vw block that has 8mm case savers and has been opened for 94mm jugs.
We ad new bearings of course and an Empi 4140 chromoly counterweighted 8 doweled crank.
On the crank we hang Scat 5.5" I beam rods on German rod bearings.
New gears drive the distributor (not included) and straight cut billet steel gears drive the Scat c-45 cam 488"L x 298D.
Scat drilled lobe lifters keep the cam wet just above the Empi windage tray.
A grooved oil plunger is at the pulley end while a stock rides in the rear by the flywheel. Both on new stock springs and hex head hardware by Scat.
A new oil screen and chrome drain plate & magnetic drain plug by Empi close up the bottom.
An Empi hi volume cast iron oil pump moves the fluids.
Holding on the Scat chromoly lightened flywheel is a Scat chromoly gland nut kit.
New cranks keys, wavy washers & nylock nuts throughout.
On that we put new Mahle 94 stroker pistons & cylinders with no cylinder shims.
On top of those we put new Performance Products heads with 40 x 35.5 stainless steel swirl polished valves. Included with the heads is dual springs, chromoly retainers & hd keepers, 3/4" x 14mm plug bore reach and a .040 head step for a 52cc combustion chamber.
9.4:1 compression ratio. You can add copper racing head gaskets to bring the CR down if you want to.
Scat 145,000 psi chromoly head studs hold it together.
The pistons hold Grant top & bottom rings and Total Seal gapless 2nd rings and teflon buttons.
Stock cooling tins beneath the cylinders.
Stock vw pushrod tubes with silicone high temperature seals.
New stock rocker blocks.
Scat 3/8" chromoly cut to fit pushrods work Scat chromoly 1.25:1 ratio rockers on Scat chromoly solid bolt together rocker shafts.
Empi swivel foot valve adjusters and our HD nuts push the valves.
Empi bolt on aluminum finned valve covers finish this beast.
