Description:
This started out as an Empi aluminum STROKER block. We dremel out any rough edges and potentially loose material left over from the manufacture of the block. It can be either a 1776 or an 1835.
Then after a thorough rinse and dry, the block gets the distributor drive with the appropriate washers. The distributor to keep a position for #1 is next, but is only temporary until it goes long block.
Now the forged counterweighted 8 doweled Empi 69 stroke crank is built with rebuilt & balanced rods by Rimco. Performance Products straight cut cast steel gears are set up, both on the crank & Engle 100 camshaft.
Single thrust cut bearings hold the cam in place and a Performance Products bypass filter pump, which we flow and modify for best performance, will drive off the cam.
Empi billet 28mm drilled lobe lifters ride above an Empi windage tray. Below we add long studs and an Empi 1 1/2 quart deep oil sump.
This block uses a stock grooved cam plug. New crank woodruff keys.
A stock flywheel and silicone flywheel seal is used with a new German gland nut and an Empi large washer. Stock oil screen and drain plate.
Allow 1-2 weeks to build.
