Doghouse Engines - 2387cc short block plus

This monster starts with a brand new vw high roof aluminum block with 10mm case savers.
The block is full flow ready. This baby is going to run ALL type 4 mains for superior strength, but we don't stop there. It's also shuffle pinned.
For the best lubrication known to man, we will also have it drilled for piston/cyl squirters.
Along the lines of oiling, Scat lube-a-lobe lifters will be used to ride on an Engle FK-10 (539L x 310D w/ 1.4:1 rockers) cam with Empi billet steel straight cut gears. Any other reasonable cam may be used if you prefer.
Melling oil pump with a Scat billet aluminum full flow face.
There'll be a windage tray to cut down horsepower robbing frothing.
A Scat 8 dowel 86mm Pro-Comp crank with Chevy rod journals will spin Scat H beam 5.5" rods held on by ARP 3/8" bolts.
New gears, separated by a Scat racer spacer, will drive the chrome centrifugal advance distributor. A billet fuel pump block off will sit next to a chrome alternator stand with a polished aluminum 90 degree oil filler & billet screw on cap, all by Empi.
Beneath all that will be a Scat stock size sand sealed pulley with blue numbers and NO holes (good for mid engine mounting), held on with a crank spacer & a chrome bolt/washer combo.
Next to the pulley will be an Empi billet dipstick. On the backside of this powerhouse will be a Scat 12 1/2# chromoly flywheel & Scat chromoly gland nut & washer.
Underneath, there will be a new oil screen and a Scat billet drain plate.
Back up on top, will be a block off plate diverter at the stock location for the oil cooler. This will put the oil coming out of the block, right back in.
Nylock nuts & plated washers throughout.
