This engine is capable of 7000 rpm and 160 horsepower. New aluminum high roof VW block w/ 8mm case savers, cnc clearanced for 84 stroke. Scat 8 dowel cast 78.8mm crank balanced to the nats ass. Oem vw rods have been stroker clearanced, rebushed, resized, end to end balanced and also mate balanced with new nuts added, of course. HD Performance Products aluminum oil pump with HP1 filter & cool collar. We flow the pump for max performance and set the pump shaft for maximum penetration into the cam slot. An Engle FK-8 cam (534L x 298D w/ 108 lobe center) works 1.4:1 ratio Scat Pro-Comp rockers. Any other reasonable cam can be used if you prefer. OEM lifters mate balanced to 96 grams each. An Empi windage tray is in there too. We deep stud the oil sump in case you want to add an Empi deep sump. A Scat BILLET drain plate w/ magnetic drain plug, chrome dip stick and a new oil screen are included. A Scat racer spacer is on the crank next to Empi steel straight cut gears. Cam set at 4 degrees advance for maximum compression. New dual relief plug hardware kit. New Mahle: main bearings, rod bearings & single thrust cam bearings. New nylocks and plated washers throughout. Empi billet fuel pump blockoff. Billet aluminum Empi dist clamp holds a new Bosch 009 (set in 180 degrees off to accomodate a 60,000 volt Compu-Fire DIS-IX kit) using points & condensor. A stock weight flywheel spg dowel pattern drilled is held on with a Scat chromoly gland nut & washer. Silicone fly seal. A stock size aluminum degreed sand sealed pulley is on the front with a chrome bolt & washer. Scat 145,000 psi chromoly head stud kit. Mahle 90.5 jug set, bal'd, ringed with Grants & Total Seal Gapless 2nds, teflon buttons, CB Perf copper head gaskets, 40 x 35.5 dual spring heads, chromoly retainers, long plug reach bores & 7.8:1 compression ratio. Stock, painted pushrod tubes with silicone seals. Empi chrome cool tins. Lash caps, Scat Stainless steel valve covers, drilled & tapped with 1/2" vent barbs. An adapter sits on top for connecting to a remote cooler via 1/2 barbs. Chrome cyl tin, fan shroud, backing tins, pulley & spacer & air cleaners. Stainless alt strap holds a new Bosch 51 amp alt. A new, original equipment fan throws cooling air. Dual 44 webers, (will now be HPMX carbs), 2 1/2" steel velocity stacks & hexbar linkage. Washable gauze 4 1/2 x 7 x 3 1/2 BILLET POLISHED air filters. Bosch WR7DP plugs get fire from a Compu-Fire 35,000 volt coil via 8mm Taylor Spiro Pro plug wires. Ceramic coated 1 5/8" system (shown on engine) with a downswept Turbo muffler NOT included. For another $165 we'll yank the ignition and add a big Compu-Fire kit (60,000 volts) with either blue or yellow wires, and bump the power up 5+ (I'm being conservative here) more hp.
