Pictured engine is slightly different from the one described in this add, due to price changes and parts available today. Pictured engine has been sold, but we can always build another one just for you. 5500 rpm capable. Exhaust shown does not have heater boxes.
This engine starts with a brand new oem vw block with 8mm head stud case savers. A new 69mm stock crank holds new rod assemblies. New main bearings, rod bearings & cam bearings. An Engle 120 cam* (435L x 294D) rubs against Empi drilled lobe lifters for maximum lubrication. An aluminum helical cut cam gear. Double thrust cam bearings. A bypass filtered oil pump by Performance Products (flowed by Doghouse) will push the oil with 32mm gears. A new stock weight flywheel will provide torque. It's held on by a new German gland nut & Empi big washer. New washers & nylock nuts everywhere. New oil screen and chrome drain plate w/ magnetic oil drain plug. *A stock cam is 338L x 260D for reference. The Engle cam will give you more distance in each gear.
To go long block we add an 87mm Mahle piston/ cylinder kit with Grant top & bottom rings. Total Seal Gapless 2nd rings. Beneath the cylinders are stock air deflector plates & stock push rod tubes. On top, we added new Autolinea stock (short reach plug bores) dual port heads. We add single high rev springs and performance aluminum retainers. Held on by a stock Brazilian head stud kit. Approximate 7.46:1 compression ratio. Empi stock style pushrods. New stock rocker assemblies. Empi swivel foot valve adjusters & our hd nuts enable you to reduce your valve adjustment cycles every 3,000 miles to once every 12,000 miles or more. New stock black valve covers & chrome bales close it up.
To go turnkey we added all new black tins. Performance Products 60 amp alternator on a plain alternator stand with a stock steel strap & Bugpack Tri-Star vented oil filler. Empi black top pulley & Scat stock style stock size degreed bottom pulley w/ chrome hardware by Empi. OEM Brazil fat cooling fan w/ new hardware by Empi. New fuel pump, block, & rod. New Empi centrifugal advance distributor with a Compu-Fire electronic drop in kit. No more points or condensor. Bosch extended tip W8AP plugs, Taylor Spiro-Pro lime green (if you want another color, tell me) 8mm wires carry spark from a Compu-Fire 35,000 volt coil. Empi chrome coil bracket & an Empi single 40 HPMX carb kit w/ velocity stacks, make it go. New manifold elbows, boots & clamps. A Performance Products oil cooler adapter holds a new oil cooler** in the new black 36hp shape doghouse style shroud. Shroud has fresh air ducts for use with heater boxes. Shroud has a throttle tube in it. Empi 1 3/8" pipe exhaust system with new clamps, J-tubes & single quiet pack muffler. We addded long bolts & washers for the muffler attachment. No clutch or p-plate included. **exhaust tins for the oil cooler not included. |
