This engine was based upon a brand new Scat prepared, oem vw block. A new aluminum block may take its place. Inside will be a Scat super torque cam hooked to Empi straight cut steel gears. New Empi lifters will spin just above a windage tray. A brand new 69 stroke crank hooked to a stock weight 200mm flywheel for torque. Stock vw rods that have been resized, rebushed, weight mated & end to end bal'd will handle the 94mm Mahle pistons with Total Seal gapless 2nd rings & teflon buttons. Stock cylinder cool tins hug the cylinders. A pair of big valve (40x35.5) heads sport dual springs, chromoly retainers, stainless steel swirl polished valves and 3/4" long plug bores. .040 copper racing head gaskets will keep compression ratio to a cool 7.9 for pump gas. Thicker (.060) head gaskets would lower the compression to 7.6:1 at no additional cost. An Empi hi-volume oil pump will push oil thru the veins*. A Scat billet drain plate w/ magnetic drain plug will sit on an Empi deep sump. Scat chromoly "cut to fit" Manton pushrods will slide thru stock tubes. A German gland nut holds on the flywheel with a large Empi washer. Scat 1.4:1 Pro-Comp valve train & lash caps. Empi aluminum finned**, clip on valve covers finish it off.
